VOLUNTARY BENEFITS
Roux is pleased to offer you additional insurance and income protection for you and your family. Roux recognizes that each employee has different needs and that’s why Roux is offering several different plan options for you to choose from. These benefits are voluntary, which means they are employee paid. Below is a summary of the different plan offerings.
PLEASE NOTE: Off-the-job accident, Specified Illness, and Hospitalization benefits are only available if you are enrolled in a major medical plan.
Whole Life with Long-Term Care
Long-term care is assistance offered to an individual with a chronic illness or disability over an extended period of time. This can include care in a nursing home, assisted living facility, adult day care, or in-home care.
Enrollment occurs once per year for all eligible employees during the company’s designated annual open enrollment period.
Whole Life with LTC:
- Pays benefits for both Long-Term care situations and in the event of the death of a covered individual
- Does not require health questions to qualify for coverage (Initial Enrollment Only)
- Portability - you can take this coverage with you if you change jobs or retire
- Accumulates cash value that you can borrow against or cash out
- Rate based on age at time of initial enrollment is locked in for coverage amount elected
Specified Illness
Specified Illness through GUARDIAN provides a financial, lump sum benefit payment to employees upon a diagnosis of a covered illness. These covered illnesses are typically very severe and likely to render the affected person incapable of working. Because of the financial strain, these illnesses can have on individuals and families, critical illness insurance is designed to help ill employees pay their mortgage, seek experimental treatment, or handle unexpected medical expenses. Some covered illnesses for which employees can elect coverage include, but are not limited to, heart attack and stroke coverage.
Hospitalization
ROUX is pleased to offer you the opportunity to purchase Hospital Indemnity coverage through GUARDIAN. Becoming hospital-confined can be very expensive even for those with the best medical plans. Hospital Indemnity will pay for out-of-pocket costs associated with inpatient hospital, outpatient surgery, rehabilitation facility, and emergency room. Individuals with high deductible plans are ideal candidates for this type of coverage.

Identity Force (through Cigna)
As our digital activity expands, fraud and scams increase exponentially, along with vulnerabilities that result from having sensitive personal information exposed. It’s why IdentityForce offered through Cigna will be included in your Cigna medical coverage at no additional cost for you and your dependents up to age 26.
Pet Insurance
ROUX is pleased to offer you the opportunity to purchase Pet Insurance through PetPartners. These comprehensive pet insurance plans give you the ability to choose the highest quality veterinary treatments for your pet, without worrying over the cost. This benefit offers customizable plans, use at any licensed vet, fast claim turnaround, and more!
