Retirement Plan (401K)
The Help USA 401(k) is provided through The Principal Financial.
- The 401(k) is available for all full-time employees.
- Eligible employees are automatically enrolled at a 3% contribution rate from the 1st of the month upon completing 30 days of service.
- Help USA contributes at a rate of approximately 3.5% of an employee’s annual gross compensation.
- Employee contribution rates will continue to increase by 1% each year until it reaches 6%.
- Employees vest in company contributions after two years of service.
Tuition Reimbursement
- All full-time employees are eligible.
- The maximum benefit is $3,000 per calendar year.
- Classes must relate to the Help USA mission.
- Classes must be pre-approved by a supervisor to be eligible for reimbursement.
- A passing grade is required for reimbursement.

Paid Time Off
Paid Time Off consists of Vacation, Sick, and Personal Time
Vacation and Personal Leave Eligibility
- Employees become eligible to use Vacation and Personal Leave upon completion of three (3) months from date of hire.
Sick Leave Eligibility
• Full-Time employees hired before January 1, are eligible for seven (7) days or 56 hours of paid sick leave annually, to be deposited as a lump sum into their sick leave account on January 1. • Full-Time employees hired after January 1, will accrue sick leave hours during their first year at the rate of 1 hour for every 30 hours worked to a maximum of 56 hours. The next January 1, these employees will no longer accrue sick leave, but will receive the lump sum deposit into their sick leave account on January 1. • Part-Time employees who work less than 30 hours a week will earn one (1) hour of sick time for every thirty (30) hours worked. • There is no waiting period of employment before an employee can use their accrued sick leave. During the first calendar year of employment, paid time off is pro-rated based on the employee’s date of hire. Second year onwards the following accrual schedules applies:
